Hospira Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, multiple-dose diluent carrying 0.9% (9 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. That preservative restrains microbial growth, so repeated sterile withdrawals can be drawn from one sealed vial when aseptic technique is observed. It comes in a 30 mL multiple-dose vial.
